RVA2k7BA: The winners
The inspiration for this site, Church Hill People’s News, won “Best Community Blog”, and CHPN moderator John Murden got “Post of the Year” for his call out for other communities to launch similar sites (there are now about a dozen hyperlocal community sites in the Richmond area that did not exist this time last year). Congrats John! Other winners: Brandon Eats (foodie blog), The Yarn Lounge (business blog), Save Richmond (political blog), Journey to Ironman (topical blog), Buttermilk & Molasses (Blog of the Year — coverage of the Richmond Downtown Master Plan and the Crupi report was something to behold), …. To see the full list of categories and winners, and to find links to them all, go here. If you are just tuning in, a list of all the nominees (including PPN) is available here.

Vote! — For your favorite community blog (ahem *PPN* ahem)
If you are moved to tears to have access to an online calendar of local goings-on, overjoyed to regularly see Ron Moring’s photos, tickled as you can be to have a space to pose questions for our local media to explore, overwhelmed at the prospect of being able to access city council minutes, BRAC reports, and other documents all in one place (and archived!), etc etc etc, then let Richmond know — show your support for Petersburg People’s News. (Oh, and while at it you may learn about some other really outstanding topical blogs out of the greater Richmond area, if you don’t already follow them over at RVABlogs.com.)
