Halifax Jazz & Blues Festival 2008
Downtown Petersburg, Inc. announces that plans are moving forward for the Halifax Jazz & Blues Festival 2008 on the Historic Halifax St. South Ave. Harrison St. Triangle. The event will be held on May 3rd and 4th and anticipates having as great an impact as last year. DPI and city officials have reached a mutual agreement to support this event in order to provide entertainment and education about the rich historical and cultural significance of this section of Petersburg. DPI: a look at this year’s progress
Today’s P-I has an interview with Downtown Petersburg Inc.’s former and current Executive Directors, Jim Wilson and Denise Dahl, respectively. They discuss how this year DPI established a full-time office for the first time since the organization’s inception, and how DPI has since worked on defining the mission and structure that will guide its operations and focus over the foreseeable future.
