More Nostalgiafest 2008 activities: Service @ Blandford Church

In the inbox: Come and join us for a special Nostalgiafest 2008 church service being held at Blandford Church, built in 1735, on Sunday, October 5, at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Doctor Alexis Fathbruckner of the Washington Street United Methodist Church will be preaching.  Light refreshments and tours of the church and cemetery will follow the service.  This event is open to the public and is free of charge.

Ron Moring offers a tribute to J.T. Morriss

From Ron Moring: I’ve just selected a few of my favorite photographs taken on May 6, 2006 during the Blandford Church / Cemetery event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the J.T. Morriss Funeral Home business. With the passing of Mr. Morriss this past Friday, we in this city, and beyond, have lost a dedicated and compassionate native son. I have lost a lifelong friend and this is my small tribute to his Morriss family legacy, past, present and future.

Blandford Historic Church will be hosting a program at 6:30pm tonight (Dec 8) that will include singing of carols and the reading of soldier’s letters. Period costume encouraged.
