Gov. Kaine’s proposed transportation legislation
From the office of Gov. Kaine: “Governor Timothy M. Kaine today stood with members of the House and Senate and released his proposed transportation legislation to be considered during the upcoming special session of the General Assembly. The GovernorÂ’s legislation will provide much-needed funding for our growing highway maintenance needs; fund congestion relief in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads; and invest in more innovative, energy-efficient transportation solutions.” Read more >

Delegate Dance to Hold Town Hall Meeting June 18th
Del. Rosalyn R. Dance will hold a Town Hall meeting June 18, 6:30-7:45pm, at Union Train Station, 103 River St. The meeting will address, among other things, the past General Assembly session, college financing, and transportation. Gov. Kaine brings Town Hall Meeting to ARGS
Governor Timothy M. Kaine will begin a series of statewide town hall meetings on Monday, March 10 through the reconvened session, to discuss the budget and legislation passed during the 2008 General Assembly Session and take questions from the public. No sign-in is required to attend or ask questions. All town hall meetings are open to the public and media. The meeting comes to Petersburg Tuesday March 11, 6:30-8pm, at the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, 512 W. Washington St.

RichmondSunlight.com, a user-friendly VA General Assembly bill tracking engine dynamo, currently counts approx. 550 House and Senate bills to be considered in the coming session. This site now helps folks keep track of the various and sundry bills by way of tools including: newest bills, most watched bills, most discussed bills, newest comments, tag clouds (you can follow all the bills under a particular category, e.g., payday lending), and a bills-of-personal-interest-portfolio-building-tool called Photosynthesis.
