Old Towne Bazaar & Dog Stroll, Sept. 13, 10am-5pm

Bring your canine buddy to historic, charming Old Towne Petersburg, VA and enjoy a fun day of fabulous sales at this special dog-friendly shopping extravaganza. Most stores in Old Towne will be participating in an outdoor/indoor sale of discounted merchandise and introduction of new Fall items! Well behaved dogs on leashes will be welcome in several stores. Water and doggie treats will be provided throughout Old Towne. For more details, click here for a flyer, or read on.

Start the day at the dog-friendly Farmer’s Market on River Street, under the Martin Luther King Bridge (Rt 1 bridge) near the Visitor Center. The Farmer’s Market starts about 7 a.m and runs until noon and offers fresh local produce, flowers and herbs, organic meat and eggs, baked goods and handmade soaps and jams and sauces. Afterwards, grab a BAZAAR/DOG STROLL map from the Visitor Center at 425 Cockade Alley which will show doggie relief stations, event locations, stores hosting sales and/or providing treats, and directions to the Appomattox River Walk, a perfect path for your (leashed) pooch. The Visitor Center is open from 9-5 pm, 733.2400.

Pet-related events include:

• Dog contest at 3 pm at the Old Towne Market Place at 124 W Bank St (Bank and Market Streets). Categories and prizes will be posted here.
• Face painting (for kids), homemade doggie bandanas, and music at the Dixie Diner at 250 N Sycamore St (N Sycamore and Bank Streets),
• Free doggie massages outside Therapeutic Massage Center and Boutique at 27 Bollingbrook St., 2nd floor
• Treats and water available outside many locations for your dog’s nibbling pleasure.

Old Towne is easy to find. We are at exit 52 (Washington St) off I95, 21 miles South of Richmond VA. Follow signs to the Old Towne Visitor Center for FREE PARKING close to all Bazaar and Dog Stroll Events. Use the Visitor Center address for your GPS – 425 Cockade Alley, Petersburg VA 23803.

The Old Towne Bazaar and Dog Stroll is sponsored by the Old Towne Merchants Group, with gracious support by the City of Petersburg Visitor Center.

The list of event sponsors and participating stores/restaurants can be found here.
