Just curious - didn’t see it on the SR website….do they do anything like season tickets? A la Broadway Under the Stars type thing. (I’m sure they would do better than Baci Management did)
chuck-
we’ve never had success with subscriptions, so we offer memberships, which have been much more successful. (they include dicounts on all of the tickets, which adds up to the same savings as a subscription but offers more flexibility for the patron.)
(our website is under construction; i apologize there’s not a whole lot of information there yet!) if you want membership information & you aren’t on the big mailing list, call the theatre & let us know!
The show is great. First class, especially Blanche. Live theatre like this in PB is something we need to appreciate, and hang on to.
Really beautiful show…go see it!
Was there any coverage in the TD today? I didn’t pick it up. I have my fingers crossed for a good review…this show certainly deserves the press!
My mother said she enjoyed the show. She also was happy that the house seemed full on opening night.
Haven’t seen a review in the online version yet.
Susie Haubenstock will be there on the 25, with review to follow this weekend. Fingers crossed!
review update:
we’re pretty sure the P-I review will run on thursday, since we haven’t seen anything yet (i was hoping for sunday, but…)
also, a review will run in this week’s Style magazine.
-and probably sunday’s RTD (Ms. Haubenstock will join us this friday night.)
…that’s all we know for now! combined with a few radio interviews, we’re happy to see some pretty constant press coverage! (because really, this production is a great one, and we want everyone to know about it!)
what was i thinking earlier?

Yes! Congratulations!
Maybe some more richmond residents will come down to see it, it is a well-loved play, and with good reviews…
Second that. Congrats on an excellent review SR!

oh! thanks, julia! how did i forget to share that?
and in other cool Sycamore Rouge (& area theatre in general:)
Theater critics representing several of central Virginia’s major media outlets have created a new organization called the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle (RTCC) with the primary purpose of promoting and recognizing excellence in professional theater produced in the Richmond area. The group will do so via an annual awards gala, the first of which will be held on Sunday, October 19th at the Firehouse Theatre.
Our own Blanche, Terry Gau, has been nominated for Best Female Performance in a Play! Yippee for her! (although i must say she really, really deserves it.)
This Saturday is everyone’s last chance to see Streetcar!
(reserve tickets if you want to be sure you have a seat. …really. it’s that good.)
