Tricycle Gardens’ June 25 community gardening meeting - notes

The meeting was insanely informative. Here are my notes.

Also, forgot to add this detail, which may be handy to non-community gardens too:

You can buy a some sort of reader to install on your hose that measures how much of your water use is for gardening… you take that reading to the city, and they deduct that much use from the wastewater part of your water bill (I guess water going into the ground isn’t going into the sewage system?). Details on how one presents such a reading weren’t discussed, but I’m sure one could call the city to find out what they require. It was also mentioned that Thackers or Pleasants may have some of these doo-dads. Again, a few phone calls may save you some effort in the hunt.

Chip brought the following to my attention, from the American Community Gardening Association — the very thorough Starting a Community Garden.
