YAY JESSICA! Don’t know her but sounds like she’s quite the young lady!!

We are all proud of her and the Petersburg City Public Schools appreciates the Petersburg People’s News for publishing this announcement.

Some “traditional” media outlets ignore these announcements that we send, which is a disservice to the students as well as to the rest of the community.

Please excuse poor spelling/grammar in post #3(rushing to post before meetings)!

Again, congrats to Jessica and thank you PPN for the word on this good news.

In a statement from PPS’ Cliff Davis on the award ceremony:

White said she has wanted to attend West Point since she was little. She plans to major in engineering. She’s devoted her free time to feeding homeless persons and mentoring children — service that was noted in selecting her for the award.

“Two U.S. presidents and several generals, including Gen. Patton and Gen. Schwarzkopf, attended West Point. These are people of outstanding character and these are the kind of people that you will be identified with,” said Lt. Col. James Ryan, Ret., a director of the West Point Society of Richmond, as he presented White with the award.
