Petersburg Police host two events for National Missing Children’s Day

The Petersburg Police Department, NOBLE, and Weed & Seed are hosting two activities on Saturday May 24, from 12pm-3pm, for National Missing Children’s Day.

First proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1983 as National Missing Children’s Day, May 25th serves as an annual reminder to the nation to renew efforts to reunite missing children with their families, remember those who are still missing, and make child protection a national priority.

This year, Petersburg Bureau of Police will create Child ID Kits that will be provided to parents and guardians. They will also provide safety tips to children. The two locations are as follows:

1. Third Baptist Church; 550 Farmer Street; Petersburg, VA 23803 (Contact Officer Sherri Johnson 804-712-8819)

2. Faith and Hope Temple; 1800 E. Washington Street; Petersburg, VA 23803 featuring
Weed & Seed Program Officers (Contact Officer Angela Gargus 804-479-0678)

Both events are free and open to the public.

This activity is conducted as part of the TAKE 25 organization. For more information visit www.take25.org.
