They aren’t new as such. They were up at least last year as well. They have a couple of different sets of them depending on the season.
So I noticed them for the first time (this season) today. Made me wonder how many times I’ve passed by them b/f noticing. :-)
They had some funky ones for winter such as a “Skier” that just didn’t fit well for the area. Sure, it would look right in Telluride but we certainly do not have much sking going on :-).
Yeah. Telluride…
The kayaking one is what caught my eye. YESSSS! Where please?
The banner-flay doodays look great. When the river is dredged, we can kayak down to Hopewell.
People do kyaking in the rapids near Cambell’s (sp?) bridge. The rapids there can get pretty impressive (at least from the bridge and to someone like me who has not participated in that sport), especially when there has been some rain.
The rapids near Campbells Bridge is in fact, more dangerous than it looks. We have lost lives over the years of people who thought that water to be more friendly than it actually is, be careful.
Re: care… definitely!!! I used to run the James’ whitewater, and am strongly of the opinion that folks not get into a river, to swim, boat, or other, without first taking a class on basic river do’s/don’ts and water-reading, for starters. I guess these days I’m curious about sea-kayaking more than whitewater, and was wondering if there is a group of experienced boaters in the region that meet to run the lower (non-whitewater) App. periodically.
