2) Details of the Team Riddick Youth Football Camp, scheduled for this summer

1) Details re: registration for Westview Early Childhood Education Center

The Petersburg City Public Schools will hold registration for the Westview Early Childhood Education Center, beginning April 14 and ending April 25, at WECEC, 1100 Patterson Street, Petersburg.  Registration will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon during those two weeks.  Your child must be 3 or 4 by September 30, 2008 to apply.  For further information please call Westview Early Childhood Education Center at 804-861-1274.

2) Details of the Team Riddick Youth Football Camp, scheduled for this summer.

The 1st annual youth football camp, Team Riddick, will be held July 21-23, from 9am to 12:30pm, at Petersburg High School’s football stadium. The cost of the camp is $10.00.

Children ages 6-14 are eligible for participation. The camp is a non-contact fundamental football camp designed to improve football skills. Proper fundamentals of all football positions on offense and defense will be taught in addition to life skills such as teamwork, alcohol & drug abuse avoidance, sportsmanship and the importance of education. The three-day camp will include instruction from High School, Middle School and Recreation League coaches, and will also include flag football games, team races and competitive drills. All campers in attendance will receive a camp t-shirt.

For more information, contact: Coach Ricky Riddick, 804.862.7095 or 804.926.8032.

Note that while this event is not officially sponsored by the Petersburg City Public Schools, the district supports opportunities like these for our children to be physically active and to develop life skills.
