HPLA to hold neighborhood clean-up day Apr 19

The folks at HPLA are organizing a neighborhood clean-up on Saturday, April 19, 9:30am -12:00pm. The focus on this date will be Jefferson between Marshall and Wythe and Liberty Street between Sycamore and Halifax.

Please meet us at 9:30 on the porch of 326 South Sycamore Street for coffee and light refreshment, to split into groups and to pick up your tools of mass trash collection. After a little socializing, we’ll head out to clean our community and make our presence visible in the neighborhood. Please wear something bright colored for safety and to be noticeable.

We did something similar in Woodland Heights (Richmond). The City provided drivers, trash trucks, and some staff to help the neighbors clean up. We would advertise on our board to let neighbors know they could put out certain items (you know help clean out shed/garage type thing). Does P’Burg help at all with the trash trucks/drivers?

You can contact Leonard Muse (Director of Planning) at 733-2308 & he can help provide gloves, trash bags, & stylish orange vests. He can also coordinate trucks for pick up.
