Military Officers present $6900 to Quartermaster Foundation, Fort Lee
COL (R) Victoria Revilla, President of the local Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) chapter, and four other board directors of the chapter presented a $6,900.00 check to the U.S. Army Quartermaster Foundation on March 20 during the annual meeting of the foundation board. Receiving the check on behalf of the Foundation was GEN Thompson, President of the QM Foundation and LTG Gregg, Advisor to the foundation board. This is the second year in a row that the Southside Virginia Chapter has won tops honors in the “Give Me 10!” national recruiting campaign — recruiting 701 new members for the MOAA and the second year that they have presented most of their award winnings to the museum that is supported by the QM Foundation.
The amount of the check presented to the QM Foundation represents over 83% of the total winnings received by the Southside chapter. The chapter also presents 10 scholarships a year to local high school students. In 2007 the chapter was awarded the five-star excellence award by the national association for its contributions to the local military and civilian community; an honor given to only ten chapters out of the 390 nation-wide.
If you are interested in membership contact the chapter by email or phone at (804) 586-5742.
