Ward 4 meeting April 3; Ward 6 meeting April 8
The Ward 4 meeting will be April 3, starting at 6:30pm, at St. Marks on Claremont; a rep from the Assessor’s office will be attending, as will reps to discuss the new library project and South Side Train Station.
The Ward 6 meeting will be April 8, 6-8pm, at Westview School.

re: assessments —
1) the average proposed increase citywide was stated to be slightly less than 7%.
2) appeals forms are available on the city’s site, and the appeals deadline has been extended to April 15 (if I caught that right). The assessor noted that approximately 50% of appeals result in a lower assessment; the majority of the balance result in no change, but occasionally an appeal does result in an increased assessment.
There was a question at some point about how many properties the city owns. In May 2007 I requested that information; the figure at that time was 437.
