Goodwill Annual Spring Career Fair and pre-employment workshops

Goodwill Industries will hold its Annual Spring Career Fair on Tuesday, April 1 from 2-7 p.m. at its main facility, located at 6301 Midlothian Turnpike. Over 30 area employers and community organizations are expected to participate at the FREE, public event.

Corporations, non-profit organizations and governmental agencies will be meeting with, interviewing and hiring qualified candidates for full-time employment, as well as part-time and seasonal positions in a variety of fields.

Among the organizations participating are: American Red Cross Nurse Aide Program, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Goodwill of Central Virginia, Goodwill Staffing Solutions, Hill Phoenix, Hoffman Communications, Intercept Youth Services, Kings Dominion, Lowe’s Home Improvement, OfficeMax, Radio One, Sims Metal, Southside Virginia Training Center, Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc., UPS, US Army Recruiting, VCU Health System, and VCU Human Resources.

Goodwill’s Annual Spring Career Fair is accessible by the GRTC Route 63. Parking is available on-site. Registration for the public will begin at 2 p.m. Job seekers are encouraged to bring a copy of their resume, and dress in professional attire. Resume paper and copy services will be provided at no cost during the career event, courtesy of OfficeMax ImPress Print & Document Services.

Pre-employment workshops on Monday, March 31 will assist job seekers in preparing for the career event. Workshops will cover such topics as Application Essentials, Creating a Winning Resume, Mastering the Employment Interview, and Dressing for Interview Success. Registration is required for workshops.
