From PPS’ Cliff Davis: The Petersburg City Public Schools Board will hold a call meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 10, at the School Board Office, 255 E. South Blvd., to discuss student conduct and personnel matters. The meeting will be a closed session.
The Irish poet W.B. Yeats once said,
“Education is not filling a bucket, but lighting a fire.”
And he, perhaps, was inspired by the Roman writer Plutarch, who said:
The mind does not require filling like a bottle,but rather, like wood, it only requires kindling to create in it an impulse to think independently
and an ardent desire for the truth.”
Cliff, I wish you were a teacher rather than a PR man. I say that with some admiration, but also as a taxpayer.
