   Interesting — looking up the meaning of ‘efficere’, looks like it is derived from ‘efficio’, whose meanings include: to do, produce, effect, make / bring about, cause / prove (source). Aptly named event!

   The artists’ statement about their performance piece:

   An exercise in creation? Destruction? Futility? Change? We’d like people to reach their own conclusions about our intent. I think the performances, the installations, all of it is pretty rich in metaphor and open for interpretation. If anything we’d like people to walk away from our performances more aware of what is being questioned and what they are questioning themselves. As artists we want to create awareness and pose relevant questions to our viewers. With Efficere we’d like to demonstrate the magnitude of possibility that Petersburg holds as a community striving towards improvement. We’ve asked, “At what point is it necessary for you to make it change rather than just watch it change?”

   If you haven’t yet watched April and Josh in action, you can still do so today, 12-1pm, either in front of PRAC or via live webcam.
