Many low-to-moderate income working families and individuals in the Tri-Cities area qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Those who qualify for EITC are eligible to have their taxes prepared at no cost.

In Petersburg, free tax preparation is available through April 15 at the Richmond Community Action Program at 2917 S. Crater Road. Call 788-0050 for hours.

The Chesterfield/Colonial Heights DSS office at 9501 Lucy Corr Circle in Chesterfield is the free tax prep site for these communities and prepares returns from 4-7p.m. each Thursday through April 10. Appointments are not necessary.
