Workshops on the Cameron Foundation’s grantmaking process
To area nonprofit leaders: The Cameron Foundation will be holding information workshops regarding its grantmaking process on March 20, March 27, and April 3, 2008. All workshops are offered at the Foundation’s headquarters at 24 West Old St. in Old Towne Petersburg and will be conducted by the Foundation’s Program Officers, Anne Douglas, Risha Stebbins, and Najmah Thomas. Workshops begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and run for approximately two hours.
Organizations are encouraged to have a representative attend one of these sessions to find out more about the Foundation’s priorities and the application process.
To reserve a space at a workshop email or call (email is preferred) Jan Lester, Administrative Associate at (804) 732-8900.
Because space is limited, participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis for individuals who have not previously attended an information workshop.
The Cameron Foundation provides resources to improve both the health and quality of life of people living in the cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights and Hopewell, as well as the counties of Dinwiddie, Prince George, Sussex and the portion of Chesterfield County lying south of U.S. Route 10.
Formed in April 2003 with the proceeds of the sale of Southside Regional Medical Center, the Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization that focuses its giving on seven program areas, including health care, human services, civic affairs, community and economic development, education, conservation and historic preservation, and cultural enrichment. Each grantee must be an eligible charitable nonprofit organization or municipal agency. Through a competitive process, grants are reviewed year-round. Awards are made three times annually – in February, June, and October.
More information about the Foundation and its grant opportunities can be found on its website, www.thecameronfoundation.org, or via telephone at (804) 732-8900.
