Two shootings yesterday evening

    NBC12 has additional coverage of the Quick’s incident (well, until they pull the link). The article notes that 2 suspects were arrested, and that these suspects were wanted in relation to several other recent robberies in Petersburg.

    Petersburg Police Chief John Dixon, III, says, ìAnytime you have robberies, a lot times if you don’t catch the suspects early, it continues. They become more brazen and they get more violent. I think it was really important to apprehend them.î

    This is very unfortunate. Hopefully, the city’s overbearing issue with violent crime, drugs, and prostitution will be addressed aggressively by our new police chief.

    However, he needs more supprt from the community and the city council (who has wasted 4-8 million dollars on the golf course instead of using that money to fight crime and youth activities).

    I agree about the golf course and would have advised against it but that milk is spilt.

    I hope that it does well so that at least it will pay for itself and hopefully be a draw for the area.

    That milk is still spilling. Somebody should pick the bottle up before it all runs out.

    Check the latest information. Ask any city official what we are getting for our money. I believe they are not quite certain about some of the specifics and we may very well have created an enigma, wrapped in a question mark of what now?

    Sources indicate that the amount of money needed to finance this illusion of childs play will continue to grow with no “paying for itself” in sight.

    Yet the city burns, the police are underfunded, the schools are underfunded, and we have yet to hear anyone shout… “FORE!”

    Mostly, I’m just hearing… “WHAT FOR?”
