Full (draft) text: proposed Middle College Program

Last night the school board voted to support development of a Middle College program. PPS’ Cliff Davis just forwarded the following letter, including the full draft text of the proposal:

“On Wednesday, December 19, the Board of Education of the Petersburg City Public Schools heard a presentation on a “Middle College” proposal from Dr. James Victory, Superintendent of Schools, and Drs. Vernon Lindquist and Russell Whitaker Jr., of Richard Bland College.

Middle College has the potential to have a significant impact upon Petersburg High School students. In essence, selected students from the high school will be able to take classes at Richard Bland, from professors, obtaining their high school diploma and their Associates Degree, then moving on to guaranteed acceptance at various universities in the Commonwealth with which Richard Bland has transfer agreements.”

Read the full text of the proposal here.
