Public presentation on how Fort Lee growth is expected to impact the various Southside communities
The folks who have been quantifying how the expansion at Fort Lee is expected to individually impact Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, and Prince George Counties and the cities of Petersburg, Hopewell, and Colonial Heights in terms of transportation, housing, schools, etc. will present their findings on Monday Dec. 3, 6:30-8:30pm at Union Train Station, 103 River St. Area citizens are invited to attend this presentation, which is sponsored by the Crater Planning District Commission.

A few preliminary numbers were mentioned at this morning’s Chamber Breakfast meeting, among which included:
* Petersburg is expected to see an increase of 200 new households, or 560 new people based on 2.8 persons per arriving household.
* The K-12 impact is expected to be approximately 130+ new students, and ~40 new daycare-aged children.
* Chesterfield is expected to see an increase of 800 new households, or 2240 new people based again on 2.8 persons per arriving household.
