Who is CVRA, llc? They want to change the zoning from B + B to what? Group home?
For sure a group home.
Per discussions I’ve caught, CVRA’s short-term plan is to seek a B&B designation, and the long-term plan is group home (the theory is that the B&B would be a transition phase?). Note that CVRA’s current application was on the previous meeting’s agenda — apparently no one was present to represent CVRA and thus Council decided to postpone consideration of the application until a representative makes an appearance to answer questions.
I was able to attend this evening’s meeting (though I arrived late).
I understand CRVA’s application to operate a B&B (not group home) was approved.
The joint meeting with Prince George County’s Board of Supervisors to consider the rezoning request for Independence Village will be Dec 4, location to be determined.
This one was interesting: the VA Highway Project Grant is for in-car camera and laser speed measuring devices. Watch your speed (esp. on the highways) folks — I hear from a little birdie that looks like an officer that those laser doo-dads can reach out and grab ya.
Not on the agenda:
* Ms. Joan Carter’s seat on Council (6th Ward) will be filled Nov 20 at Council’s regularly scheduled meeting. Counil is still soliciting applications. Applications are due by noon Nov 19, but be advised that interviews will be conducted Nov 19. A 6th Ward meeting will be held this Friday at AP Hill from 6-8pm to discuss.
* The next two regularly scheduled meetings will be Nov 20 and Dec 18 (with the Dec 4 joint meeting described above also on the calendar).
Oh, and the Historic District Design Review Guidelines were accepted by Council. The guidelines will be available following printing at the Dept. of Planning and the libraries, and will also be made available on the city website.
And I understand the proposed nomination of People’s Memorial Cemetery to the National Register and Virginia Landmarks Register was approved. (I stepped outside for a few, so missed that one myself.)
