Petersburg Area Art League’s September exhibit
The main gallery will feature the mixed media art of Richmond artist, Emma Lou Martin. The show is titled ìLayered papers/painted layers”, and is a retrospective of collages created over the past ten years.
Emma Lou, an award-winning artist, has a love for gardens, an interest in history, current events and the arts, and all are subjects covered in this show using a mix of mediaÖ.watercolor and collage techniques. The use of stamps, plant materials, original watercolors, and found materials are some of the elements in the art work.
“Layered papers/painted layers” will be on exhibit during regular PAAL hours through October 7th, 2007. The opening coincides with the Friday for the Arts! celebration in Old Towne, Petersburg, Friday, September 14th, from 6 to 10 PM. The show opens with a reception that is free and open to the public.
PAAL will be having a fundraising raffle the night of Emma Lou Martinís opening. A brand new painterís easel and dining packages from Old Towne restaurants will be raffled.
