Lee Memorial Park: History and restoration
Monday’s RTD covers Petersburg Garden Club’s efforts to restore Lee Memorial Park’s wildflower garden, the result of the only Depression-era work relief conservation program completed by single female heads of households. Meeting on proposed mixed-use development, Independence Village, May 3
Axis Development and South Crater Development Group are developing a plan for Independence Village, a mixed-use community adjacent to Walmart on South Crater Rd. The plan will be presented in an open forum Thursday May 3, 7-8pm, at the Cafeteria of Health South Rehabilitation Hospital (behind Pine Hill Plaza) on 95 Pinehill Blvd.

This summer the Phoenix Project is bringing 35 undergraduate and graduate students from across Virginia to Petersburg to help with community-identified projects.
