The Petersburg High School JROTC and the Hopewell High School JROTC will host their annual JROTC ball together this year at the Lee Club at Fort Lee, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Col. Frank E. Underwood, who will be formally recognized and given a plaque in honor of his having started the PHS JROTC program while serving as professor of military science at Virginia State University.

In addition, it will be announced that the annual PHS JROTC Drill Competition is to be named in his honor.

Blair Underwood, a PHS alumni, nationally recognized actor and son of Col. Frank Underwood, has been invited to attend.
