Westview Elementary studentsí special visitors to share career vision

This Wednesday, April 18, the students of Westview Elementary in Petersburg will have 20 or more special guests.† The visitors will step into the kidsí classrooms between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., and speak about their careers.

Journalists, police officers, fire fighters, doctors, state representatives and Petersburg city officials are among those who have agreed to participate, according to Constance Jones, a Westview staff member who is coordinating the program.

ìThe students will learn about the different types of careers and what they have to start thinking about now,î Jones said.

To carry the message of careers and higher education even further, Westview staff will be asked to wear their college paraphernalia the next day.

And next week, the students will dress up as representatives of their chosen careers.
