RTD looks at the renaissance going on in Petersburg

Stepping Out: Newly Hip Old Towne, which features a slideshow and an online video, looks at Petersburg’s renaissance. In doing so, the article†also gives some history†and†highlights†several of Petersburg’s merchants and restaurants.†

Was at the Bizarre Bazaar the morning this came out. It was a happy accident since we always tell our Bazaar customers to come to see us in Old Towne. It was great to have the article handy, to emphasize our descriptions of how fun Old Towne is! I have noticed a distinct change in perception of Old Towne since the 2006 Spring show. Now it’s “oh, yes, I’m hearing lots of nice things about Old Towne”, and “My friend told me about Old Towne. I’ll come visit soon.” Before it was “Old Towne? Is it safe down there.” Or, “I haven’t been there in years … (pitying smile, quick look away)”. We love it in Petersburg and are so happy to be here during the transformation!
