This is the Petersburg People’s News
Welcome to the Petersburg People’s News! We put this site together to focus on issues specific to our area, like other “hyperlocal” journalism sites that are springing up across the country (like the nearby Church Hill People’s News and the West of the Boulevard News from Richmond and Charlottesville’s cvillenews.com).

pburgpn is not a newspaper or magazine. We are a neighborhood news blog, a grass-roots publication with no staff reporters or editors. We are dependent on readers and contributors for all of our content.
pburgpn is a volunteer effort. If you are interesting in helping in any capacity, please contact us. We need reporters, photographers, and community contact liaisons. We would really like to find someone to report on sports and events at the local schools, and representatives from the local civic leagues. This is a chance to share your voice and knowledge.
If you or your organization have information, news or calendar events that should be publicized, please submit them for publication.

Let me be the first to wish you well on this. I look forward to watching the site grow!
Greetings everyone! I hope we have great interaction about the community on this site.
